Mommy-and-Mini Monday – Slouchy Cardi and Shorts

(Shopping links are below)

In the two years that Nina has been in my life, I have yet to dress us alike. I always thought it would be cute and fun to do, but the right outfits never jumped out at me–plus it was hard to twin with her while she was wearing a onesie 😏. But now that she’s a full-on toddler child, there are so many possibilities! I had the Free People cardigan already, so when I saw a toddler kimono that looked so similar at Old Navy, I had to get it for Nina. That was the inspiration piece.

If you struggle to coordinate matching outfits, start there–zero in on one unique piece or color and then build the rest with basics that you probably already have. Old Navy also makes it incredibly easy to find mommy-and-mini outfits because they often use the same patterned materials for all different age categories. For example, I found a top that I liked for myself in the color “Navy floral,” so I searched that color on the website and found tons of styles of tops and dresses for both moms and kids (even maternity and plus sizes too). I think we’ll be matching a lot more often now! If nothing else, we’ll be able to spot each other more easily in a crowd? #teamuniform
